Dr Carla Moran is a consultant endocrinologist based in Dublin with specialist expertise in thyroid disease, rare endocrine disorders and endocrine disease in pregnancy. She practices at Beacon Hospital and St Vincent’s University Hospital and is Associate Professor at University College Dublin.

She completed specialist training in Endocrinology, Diabetes Mellitus and General Internal Medicine in Ireland before undertaking a fellowship in thyroid disease at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the University of Cambridge, where she obtained her PhD.

Dr Moran leads an active research programme in thyroid disease and related endocrine disorders and has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals.

Research Interests

Dr Moran’s research focuses on disorders of thyroid hormone action and rare thyroid disease. Her work explores the molecular and clinical mechanisms underlying resistance to thyroid hormone and other rare endocrine disorders.
